Kingfisher Lake

This 6.5 acre specimen carp lake was stocked with 220 Simmo fish in 2000. Approximately 70 of these are now between 20 and 30lbs, with four different fish having been caught over the 30lb mark. The lake record is 31lbs 8oz caught in May 2006 from peg 12, with the record common being 30lbs 8oz.

The two larger and six smaller islands provide good holding areas for each of the 16 pegs. The average depth is five feet with shelves around all the islands and bars. Gullies and holes are also present. Most of the fish fall to good quality boilies or pellets fished anywhere, from tight to the islands back to open water. The gates are locked on a night with CCTV in operation. Rigs will be checked on a regular basis to ensure they are both barbless and safe.

Booking pegs on a weekend

We have decided to take peg bookings for weekends on Kingfisher, so as to give everyone the same chance to fish. Weekend pegs can be booked from 10am on the first of the month for the following month. We will start taking bookings on the 1st of June for July.

Weekends run from Friday 2pm until Sunday 2pm. Each angler can book up to two weekends per month only and these must be for different pegs. Each angler can book a peg for himself and for one other, but must give at least 48 hours notice of any cancellation. If not, the booking facility for that angler will be suspended.

Bank holiday weekends will be booked from Friday 2pm until Monday 2pm.

Fishing from Sunday afternoon to Friday lunchtime remains as normal with no booking required i.e. Ring and enquire.
